Seafood carbon emissions tool Arctic char (Salvelinus alpinus), Farmed, System: Recirculating tanks, Notes: Only a single LCA study has been undertaken on Arctic char (Ayer and Tyedmers, 2007). The estimate here is substantially lower than their estimate due to the source of electricity: most Arctic char is produced in Iceland, while Ayer and Tyedmers assessed a Nova Scotian system using coal-derived electricity. Energy use rates are for salmonid recirculating systems and come from seven sources.
